Lewis Hamilton claimed his first Grand Prix victory for Ferrari — and the 106th of his career — ending a 686-day winless streak at the newly-renamed Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix. An aggressive three-stop strategy, started on used soft tyres and aided by a Virtual Safety Car for Fernando Alonso's retirement, comprehensively outperformed the two-stop plans of the Mercedes pair, and Hamilton crossed the line 19.561 seconds clear of pole-sitter George Russell. Lando Norris completed an all-British podium in third. The race was overshadowed by late drama for the championship leader: Kimi Antonelli, who had just fought his way past Russell for second place, suffered a sudden electrical failure and retired, with Charles Leclerc parked moments later by a power steering failure of his own — triggering a second Virtual Safety Car that Hamilton's lead was too large to be threatened by. Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri completed the point-scorers' top five, while a post-race 10-second penalty for Franco Colapinto (failing to slow for yellow flags) promoted Racing Bulls' Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad into the points.
